Ella Simon

I’m Ella Simon, a self-employed barista, coach, consultant and event caterer. Back in 2018 I started working with specialty coffee, but fell in love with the community around it first. Since then I’ve learned a lot about all parts of the value chain and do now enjoy sharing and exchanging knowledge with many different people all over the world. Competing is a great platform of showcasing new innovations and beliefs and I’m happy I got to represent Germany at the World Barista Championships 2023.

If there was one thing I wish everyone would live by it's “treat others the way you’d wish to be treated.” Not what you would accept, but what you would love for yourself. So always try and make a delicious cup of coffee or maybe even lift someone up if you can. Also I have my five main values tattooed as a daily reminder. They’re: honesty and kindness, curiosity and boldness and 'einfach liebe' (solemnly love).
For me a Storm has always been something exciting, energetic and somewhat even playful. I believe Barista Attitude machines stand for craftsmanship, design and precision, making it easy to adjust all settings (from water flow to temperature to pressure) to fit each individual coffee - extracting it with care and love. With a Storm it’s exciting to play around seeing how I can influence my coffees flavour and tactile profile - especially when I also have flow rate control!
