At the 2016 World Coffee in Good Spirits, a chance meeting with the Astoria specialty team catapulted me into the world I had always dreamed of. I’m Ella Simon, a self-employed barista, coach, consultant and event caterer. Back in 2018 I started working with specialty coffee, but fell in love with the community around it first. Since then I’ve learned a lot about all parts of the value chain and do now enjoy sharing and exchanging knowledge with many different people all over the world. Competing is a great platform of showcasing new innovations and beliefs and I’m happy I got to represent Germany at the World Barista Championships 2023.
